I'm in the process of rebuilding my workshop (just finishing the demolition of the old one) but I'm really looking forward to making new workbenches, tools etc. once I'm done.
To this end, I'm currently recreating Suso's modular workbench (Paoson Woodworking) as a parametric model in Fusion.
The construction/assembly is quite simple but the part count is pretty high so I thought it would be a good opportunity to play with OpenBOM to generate something I could use as a cut list.
I don't know if I'm approaching this the right way but it seems that everything needs to be a component, grouped into more components as subassemblies, so the minimum requirement is "Multi-level BOM". However, there doesn't appear to be a way to count multiple identical items especially if they're in separate components.
For example, there are six identical drawers in the design, so my brain says that's 6 components, containing fronts, backs sides etc. each of which is also a component in its own right. The BOM lists these as 30 individual components rather than 6 x fronts, 6 x backs etc. which seems counterintuitive. It's probably me doing something silly in the component structure, but at the moment I'm having to search manually for identical items...
As I said, "Am I missing something?"
Cheers,
Andy B.

Hi Kevin,
I am currently learning Fusion 360 on your course on skillshare and am unable to use the loft command to attach to guide rails. Have attached my version for the same. Could you please help me out with it? would love to learn how i can get better at it.
Thanks!

Hi Everyone! I am brand new to Fusion 360. Kevin's Woodworker Masterclass was recommended to me after I was having frustrations with SketchUp Make. I am a hobby woodworker who likes to design projects for a specific need. I look forward to interacting with all in the future.

After watching the tutorial on threads, I created a test M20 threaded cylinder 20mm tall, along with the corresponding nut, and it worked great. When I size it up being 200mm tall, I can only apply the offset to one face of the thread. When I try and apply the offset to the other face, I get an error message that says "The operation does not cause a meaningful shape change. Try adjusting the values or changing the input geometry."
For my printer, I found a -0.2mm offset worked best, but I get the same error when I try -0.1mm.
I'm stumped.

Kevin,
I was trying to select a slot that I modeled onto a 2"X36" piece of 10 gauge and then to use the rectangle pattern to duplicate 5 more slots into it. For some reason it won't recognize my selection. Any thoughts?

I am having a little bit of trouble with equations. Let's say I want the height of a container to be the height of one item times the number of items:
TotalHeight = NumItems * ItemHeight
This doesn't seem do be allowed, mainly because 2mm * 6mm would be mm squared. Any ideas?

Hi Kevin,
I would like some more help if you please. I am creating the screw driver that you made in the youtube and I have a problem that I have face again. Why when I am trying in that case to create a "3 point Arc" the cross don't auto snap in place at any place and direction like yours? Do you have any idea what I am doing wrong?

Hello, please could someone help me complete my custom maze puzzle box in Fusion 360?
I am stuck at where you create the notch (13:34):
I have "Auto Project Edges on Reference" turned on in preferences, and am looking directly at the sketch.
I've attached my file below as an F3D and would be grateful if someone could have a look for me.
